Attractions Review 2017: December

The biggest news of the year came in its last month, as Disney acquired Fox, with Bob
Iger also extending his contract through to 2021. Also in December, Orlando mayor Buddy
Dyer spoke to Attractions Management about working with operators in the theme park
capital, while BRC revealed how it applied theme park design to a museum experience at
the newly opened Museum of the Bible.

annual IAAPA Expo
in Orlando, Florida. This year’s event didn’t disappoint, with news breaking constantly
across the trade
show floor. Some of the attractions industry’s brightest and most respected minds came
together for this
year’s Legends Panel to share their insights, while the new IAAPA chair revealed expansion
plans for his
Swedish theme park. Meanwhile, up in the mountains of Tibet, plans were unveiled to
open the world’s
highest planetarium.

Attractions Review 2017: October

Musical vegetables managed to hit the headlines in October, with an incredibly unique
installation in Tokyo. Entering the fourth quarter, a major project in the heart of New York
was announced by Parques Reunidos and an industry veteran took the helm at Universal’s
multi-billion dollar theme park project in China.
