Tender opportunity with Colchester Borough Council
Opportunity To Develop and Operate Outdoor Leisure Facilities at Castle Park

Colchester Borough Council are seeking expressions of interest from leisure operators to develop and deliver a high quality and innovative leisure facility at Colchester’s award winning Castle Park.

The closure of two bowling greens in the Park has created an exciting opportunity to redevelop these sites and deliver new leisure attractions that compliment and enhance the current visitor offer.

The Council wish to receive applications from established operators and also new and innovative providers with proposals which are creative, unique and locally based.

Castle Park is the town’s premier green space, uniquely situated adjacent to the Town Centre and containing two award winning Museums and the Town’s Visitor Information Centre. The Park attracts 1 million visitors each year and hosts many of the town’s major outdoor events, which attract an additional audience of 60,000 – 80,000 people annually.

In return for capital investment and the development of new facilities at these locations in the Park, Colchester Borough Council are offering the opportunity for a long-term lease for a period up to 25 years.
