£23m leisure centre at the heart of new Everyone Active contract
POSTED 23 Feb 2016 . BY Jak Phillips
The new Hart Leisure Centre has been designed so that its architecture ‘blends seamlessly’ into the natural surroundings
Everyone Active has kicked off an 11-year leisure management contract with Hart District Council, which sees the operator takes the reins at two existing leisure centres and a forthcoming £23m new-build.

The contract, which began this week, means Everyone Active now manages Hart Leisure Centre and Frogmore Leisure Centre, with the new Hart Leisure Centre, set to open its doors in spring 2017.

Hart’s upcoming flagship £23m Hart Leisure Centre in Fleet – designed by GT architects – is at the edge of a new country park that will be completed in 2017, and the building has been designed so that its architecture ‘blends seamlessly’ into the natural surroundings. The complex is set to feature three swimming pools, a 120-station gym, a climbing wall, coffee shop, multiple sports pitches and a sports hall.

Meanwhile, a new £1.5m investment from Hart District Council – with an extra £300,000 from Everyone Active – will be spent on refurbishing the existing Frogmore Leisure Centre. The redevelopments, to be completed in the autumn, will include a new hot yoga studio, gym, health suite, changing rooms and a crèche.

“I’m pleased to officially hand over the management of our leisure centres,” said, Hart District Council vice chair Cllr Tim Southern.

“This will strengthen one of the council’s priorities, health and wellbeing of all the residents in Hart and I know all centres will be in safe hands with Everyone Active.”
