A panel of young judges has been assembled in the UK to choose the winner of the second annual Guardian newspaper Family Friendly Museum Award, which will be announced on 5 July.
The award shortlist was drawn up by a group of experts including the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Liz Forgan and Mark Taylor, director of the Museums Association.
It consists of five museums – the Compton Verney Art Museum, The Wordsworth Trust, the Falmouth Art Gallery, the Museum of Farnham and the Pitt Rivers Museum.
The child judges range in age from eight to 16 years old and were picked via a number of website competitions. They will now travel to London to decide this year’s overall winner.
