Connecting with nature is not just an activity; it's a way of thinking
– Belgin Aksoy
Global Wellness Day (GWD) will return on 8 June 2024, emphasising the crucial relationship between humanity and nature
Founded in 2012 by Belgin Aksoy, GWD is an annual event dedicated to inspiring as many people as possible to prioritise their health and wellbeing
This year, GWD urges reconnecting with nature for overall wellbeing, with four pillars: Eat Natural, Be in Nature, Protect Nature, Be in Nature (Spiritual)
Now in its 13th year, GWD is celebrated in more than 170 countries around the world
Global Wellness Day (GWD) is set to mark its 13th annual celebration on 8 June 2024, under the theme #MagentaNature, emphasising the vital connection between humanity and the natural world.

Founded in 2012 by Belgin Aksoy, GWD is always celebrated annually on the second Saturday of June with free wellness activities across the globe and the guiding principle that ‘one day can change your whole life’.

This year, the focus is on promoting overall wellbeing through reconnecting with nature, encouraging individuals to embrace the transformative power of harmonising with the environment.

With more than 150 GWD ambassadors, key supporters and volunteers leading the initiative, people of all ages are invited to adopt a lifestyle in unity with nature.

The #MagentaNature philosophy is made up of four pillars:

Eat Natural: Embrace nourishing natural foods, celebrating the diverse gifts nature offers.
Be in Nature: Immerse oneself in outdoor environments, allowing the senses to revel in nature's wonders.
Protect Nature: Take conscious steps to reduce ecological footprint and preserve the environment.
Be in Nature (Spiritual): Engage in spiritual practices fostering a deep connection with the natural world.

Aksoy commented: “Connecting with nature is not just an activity; it's a way of thinking. Those who choose to live well come to realise that connecting with nature is also a way of life

“GWD is not just a celebration; it’s a call to action, an invitation for individuals to actively participate in their own well-being and contribute to a harmonious relationship with the world around us.

“Together, let us embark on this transformative journey towards a healthier, more connected and nature-centric existence with #MagentaNature.”
