HBO announces plans for touring Game of Thrones exhibition

HBO has announced plans to take Game of Thrones on the road as an interactive exhibition tour, kicking off in Europe.

Created in association with events provider Global Experience Specialists (GES), Game of Thrones: The Touring Exhibition will debut in Q3 2017 and will offer a close-up look at authentic props, costumes and set decorations over a 10,000sq ft (929sq m) interactive experience.

With the first location of the tour to be announced soon, HBO confirmed that the exhibition will include artefacts from every season of the show, including the upcoming season seven, which airs in the US on 16 July.

Visitors to the exhibition will explore several dynamic themed exhibition areas featuring series settings including a number of iconic locations, including King’s Landing, Meereen, Castle Black and the Iron Throne Room.

The experience will also include a mix of of immersive environments, interactives, and multimedia content, with visitors experiencing the mythical lands of Westeros and Essos, also reliving the trials and tribulations of the show’s characters.

Game of Thrones has truly become a worldwide phenomenon, with fans avidly watching the show throughout all corners of the globe,” said Jeff Peters, director of Global Licensing at HBO.

“This exhibition is going to be something fans will love, regardless of which part of the world they call home, and we’re excited to give them the opportunity to visit and celebrate the incredible craftsmanship of the talented Game of Thrones production team.”
