IAAPA 2007 saw YourDay not only showcasing its personalised theme park DVD souvenir but winning an award for it as well.
Launched at Alton Towers in August, the movie-standard, 20 minute DVD features footage of a guest moving through the park and riding on its most popular attractions.
These personalised clips, created using state of the art technology and RFID-enabled (radio frequency identification) wristbands worn by visitors, are combined with stock video of Alton Towers in action which has been specially filmed by YourDay.
A complete DVD can be produced for a visitor in less than five minutes and they are available from the company's store in the Towers Street shopping area of the park.
Al Page, CEO of YourDay says: "YourDay at Alton Towers represents the next generation of imaging products in destination leisure venues.
"Our system provides a movie but will also drive still photographs and upload clips to be downloaded to phones, PCs, PDAs and social networking websites, providing a complete range of imaging products for our clients and their guests."
IAAPA saw the company being awarded an Honourable Mention for its entry as ‘Best New Product and Impact Award: Technology Applied to Amusements’ as assessed by a panel of industry experts.
Commenting, Page said: "We’re delighted that our unique application of technology has been recognized by IAAPA, the amusement park industry’s leading association.
"To be honored as one of only two new technologies at a convention with over 1,000 exhibitors is greatly appreciated."

Small Footprint, Big Significance: Studio City Water Park |
|
Long known for its fancy casinos, Macau realized within the past decade that it must
diversify its tourism scene to attract new crowds. With the ambition of becoming the
leisure hub of China’s 72-million strong Greater Bay Area, the city began adding shows,
attractions, and family-friendly hotels. But the offering that truly stands out with fun
for everyone is Studio City Water Park – Macau’s first stand-alone water park, with all
the water slides and aquatic play structures supplied by WhiteWater. |

The experience economy, driven by evolving consumer trends, is poised for continued growth
in the coming years. Millennials have been at the forefront of this shift, favouring
