A new kind of virtual reality has come to a waterpark for the first time after supplier Polin teamed up with interactive experience specialists Lagotronics to introduce the technology.
The first VR version of the installation opened in August, debuting in Turkey at the Aquafantasy Waterpark in Selçuk, Izmir.
An addition to Polin’s existing Splash Cabin technology – an interactive game that allows two players to engage in a water-fueled battle with animated competitors – the addition of VR allows players to enter an immersive environment where they float along streams on a remote island, battling its inhabitants.
"When visitors enter the Splash Cabin and put on their VR goggles, they will believe they truly are lost on a remote island,” said Mark Beumers, CEO of Lagotronics.
“Our interactive hardware is a powerful system, and guests will feel its breadth in this new kind of aquatic attraction."

Small Footprint, Big Significance: Studio City Water Park |
|
Long known for its fancy casinos, Macau realized within the past decade that it must
diversify its tourism scene to attract new crowds. With the ambition of becoming the
leisure hub of China’s 72-million strong Greater Bay Area, the city began adding shows,
attractions, and family-friendly hotels. But the offering that truly stands out with fun
for everyone is Studio City Water Park – Macau’s first stand-alone water park, with all
the water slides and aquatic play structures supplied by WhiteWater. |
