Chester Zoo has been chosen by the 2004 Queens Awards committee to help promote the 2004 awards campaign.
The zoo, officially called The North of England Zoological Society, has been widely recognised as one of the UK’s most valuable sites for species conservation and won The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development in 2001.
It will be used as a case study in new Queen’s Awards direct marketing campaign which will demonstrate the ease of entering the Queen’s awards and show how past winners, including the zoo, have benefited from receiving an award.
First launched in 1965, the annual Queen’s Awards are given to applicants who can illustrate enterprise and business performance in one of three main categories: international trade, innovation and sustainable development.
The awards are announced each year on 21 April, the Queen’s personal birthday, and application deadline for the 2004 awards is 31 October 2003. Details: www.queensawards.org.uk
