Miniatur Wunderland visitor attraction in Hamburg will add a VR experience in 2022
The new attraction will be created by MackNext, the innovation department of Mack Group
Miniatur Wunderland features nine miniature "worlds", featuring small-scale models of cities and regions
Utilising VR, the new experience will look to merge the attractions "small world" with the real, "big one"
Attractions Management understands that MackNext, the innovation department of Mack Group, is working on a new VR experience at the family-owned Miniatur Wunderland visitor attraction in Hamburg, Germany.

The project is currently in the development phase and will be developed in a purpose-built space at the park.

Miniatur Wunderland will feature nine miniature worlds with small-scale models of cities and regions – including Hamburg, the Alps, Scandinavia and Switzerland.

The zones will be linked by a model railway and airport traffic system – the largest of its kind in the world, measuring around 16km in length.

Utilising VR, the new experience will look to merge the attraction's "small world" with the real, "big one".

The as-yet unnamed new attraction is set to open in early 2022.

MackNext is owned by the Mack family, which owns and operates the Europa-Park theme park ,as well as a number of business divisions creating rides and experiences for the visitor attractions industry.

MackNext has grown from an in-house agency at Europa-Park to an international creator and consultant of theme park design, media-based entertainment and media content.

Commenting on the collaboration of MackNext and Miniatur Wunderland, Michael Mack, founder and CEO of MackNext, said: "Germany's two most popular tourist attractions – both family businesses – are joining forces for the first time!

"I’m thrilled to announce that MackNext is developing a brand new VR experience in cooperation with the amazing Miniatur Wunderland."
