Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer has launched the third generation of its Connected timepiece.

Aimed at the luxury market, the model's USP is an "immersive sports experience" developed in-house by the TAG Heuer team.

The TAG Heuer Sport app provides detailed tracking for golf, running, cycling, walking and fitness sessions.

The data is gathered by a number of sensors, which include a built-in GPS and heart-rate monitor. It is complemented by a newly developed TAG Heuer mobile companion app.

The watch also offers a number of connected services offered using Wear OS by Google – such as notifications, Google Assistant, Google Translate, Google Pay where enabled, music controls, agenda, weather and maps.

They are supported by an all-active OLED touchscreen display – which also offers a choice of custom-designed dials.

"The TAG Heuer Connected watch was designed and engineered with the same passion and attention to detail as our mechanical watches," said TAG Heuer's chief strategy and digital officer, Frédéric Arnault – who led the development project of the watch.

"The Connected watch is not only a beautiful timepiece, it's a truly immersive experience, as it now sits within a complete TAG Heuer digital ecosystem geared towards performance and sports.

"It expresses the brand in a completely new way and offers limitless possibilities in terms of innovation for the future and will lead the way into a new era for TAG Heuer."
