Hilton Worldwide has secured a deal to open a new five-star hotel and apartment complex in Dubai, which will feature an artificial beach and rainforest for guests to enjoy.
The Rosemont Hotel and Residences will be owned by Royal International and managed by Hilton Worldwide under the Curio - A Collection by Hilton brand; their first property in the UAE. It will open for business in 2018.
The Canadian firm ZAS Group is designer, architect and lead consultant on the project, with German architects Kieferle & Partner as local consultants for authority approvals.
The design consists of two 47-storey towers. One will contain 450-hotel guestrooms, a fully-equipped gym and a health spa. The other will have 280-serviced apartments. Both will feature sky pools and fine dining restaurants. A five-storey podium will be built between the towers, with the manmade beach and landscape garden on its roof.
The entire development will cover an area of 170,000sq (1,900,000sq ft) on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road, close to the city’s business district and tourist attractions such as the Mall of the Emirates and Jumeirah Beach.
The president of Middle East and Africa for Hilton Worldwide, Rudi Jagersbacher, said: "Dubai's vibrant hospitality sector continues to grow at an impressive pace, firmly earning its position as a highly desirable destination for global travellers. We continue to see huge potential in the market, and to add a Curio property to our portfolio of 35 hotels either trading or under development in the UAE is our global recognition of the Emirates' unique ability to further build a compelling and cultured offering to attract visitors from around the world."
