S&S Worldwide is putting a new spin on its EL Loco coaster for Playland’s Castaway Cove in New Jersey.

The new addition to the park, dubbed Gale Force and expected to open in Q2 2016, is a linear synchronous motor (LSM) launched coaster, combining elements of El Loco with three LSM launches.

The EL Loco coaster is a popular ride, which includes a steep first drop, barrel rolls and a 45-degree outwardly banked turn.

“Our EL Loco coaster has been a real hit,” S&S vice president of sales and marketing Tim Timco told Attractions Management earlier this year. “The combination of a small footprint, unique elements and economical price point has made this ride extremely attractive.”

Scott Simpson, owner of Playland’s Castaway Cove, said: “Having enjoyed a long, successful experience with our S&S Double Shot ride, we are adding the next level of attraction to the park. Gale Force will feature acceleration from beginning to end, providing non-stop excitement for the entire ride.”
