The Taj Group unveils 100th hotel in India
POSTED 02 May 2013 . BY Aoife Dowling
India’s hospitality giant The Taj Group has launched its 100th hotel in India with Vivanta by Taj in Gurgaon.

The group has 117 hotels globally and this new opening takes the overall portfolio of Vivanta by Taj - Hotels & Resorts to 26 hotels.

Located 30kms south of the capital New Delhi, the hotel features 189 guestrooms with city and pool views, 18 suites as well as a presidential suite with an executive lounge on the 10th floor.

The group’s Jive Spa blends ancient Indian wisdom with contemporary therapies offering a range of services including Indian aromatheraphy massages, time-honoured Indian treatments, body scrubs and body wraps.

Steam and sauna facilities, a swimming pool and health centre will also be available to guests.

The hotel has been designed by Singapore-based architecture firm Warner Wong Design | WOW Architects. The group used a mix of glass and stone to create the impression of a sharp, yet robust structure that's avant-garde by design.

Dining options include Latitude, an all-day diner offering an international food theatre experience and showcasing the dramatic play of spices and flavours from six different cuisines. The Thai Pavilion and Deli 04 restaurants will also be on offer to guests.

Other facilities include banquet halls and more than 10,000 sq.ft (929sq m) of meeting space.

Veer Vijay Singh, chief operating officer, Vivanta by Taj Hotels & Resorts, said: "We are excited to be present in the Millennium City - Gurgaon. The Vivanta brand is growing at a rapid pace.

“With its strategic location and the Vivanta brand features, this hotel is best poised to service the global traveller looking for a unique and contemporary experience."
