Historic Scotland has launched a 13-week public consultation into its new management plan for the New Lanark World Heritage Site, South Lanarkshire.
The new document has been drafted and agreed by the historic environment agency, the New Lanark Trust and South Lanarkshire Council.
Gordon Mackie, co-ordinator of the New Lanark World Heritage Site, said the management plan sets out how the site can be preserved and enhanced between 2011-2016.
"The plan sets out a vision for the site and provides a broad framework for the management, conservation and enhancement of New Lanark for the next five years" he said.
New Lanark Trust director Lorna Davidson added: "[New Lanark] must be safeguarded for everyone to enjoy, whether they live locally, or have travelled far to visit this memorable historic site."
