Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club (BHAFC) has been given the go ahead to provide a museum at its new 22,500-seat stadium in Falmer, East Sussex.
Under plans submitted to Brighton and Hove City Council (BHCC), the npower League One club revised the design of the new North Stand to incorporate two new mezzanine floors.
In addition to the museum, the alterations will also enable the club to create more office space and a larger shop. The entire scheme is due to be completed in May 2011.
According to the BBC, BHCC planning committee chair Linda Hyde said: "This application makes no detrimental difference to the stadium's impact or appearance, yet it does add interest and enhance its viability."
