New hospitality operators are breaking into the London hotel market but “have a long way to go” before they influence big brand hotel groups, according to VisitLondon.
The tourist organisation has just published its latest Hotel Development Monitor, which showed that the main branded hotel operators currently account for around 40 per cent of the market in the capital, making stiff competition for new operators – such as Quest Hotels, Shangri-La, Silken Hotels, Yotel and Grupo Pestana – who are striving to find their place in the city’s market.
