New research commissioned by Barclaycard Business in the UK has shown that 80 per cent of consumers expect entertainment retailers to accept payments online.
The survey, which was undertaken by YouGov, questioned 2,014 respondents on how they would respond when a retailer did not take payments online.
Just over two thirds – 68 per cent – said they would go to an online competitor and spend their money there instead. Only 16 per cent of those intending to spend online would go to the high street and make their purchase there instead while a further 4 per cent would not make the purchase at all.
