POSTED 18 Aug 2015 . BY Tom Anstey
Rodriguez most recently served as executive vice president of ship operations for Carnival Cruise Line
Great Wolf Resorts – the world’s largest chain of indoor waterparks across North America – has appointed Ruben Rodriguez as its new CEO.

Rodriguez has extensive knowledge across consumer facing and hospitality companies, most recently serving as executive vice president of ship operations for Carnival Cruise Line. There he led hospitality operations, onboard revenues, marine operations, and shared services across 24 cruise ships carrying approximately five million guests per year.

Prior to his time with Carnival, Rodriguez was partner and managing director for The Boston Consulting Group, also holding senior roles at The Charles Schwab Corporation and eToys.

Effective from 22 September 2015, Great Wolf’s existing CEO, Kimberly Schaefer, will take up the role of chief brand officer through to the end of 2015, and in early 2016 will transition to a position on the company’s board.

"Great Wolf Resorts has been such an important part of my life for 18 years,” said Schaefer. “I have watched the business grow from one lodge to 12 and feel so much pride in thinking of all the opportunities I have had to contribute to what it is today. As CEO, Ruben will bring a unique perspective to our leading family entertainment brand and I look forward to being involved in the next phase of Great Wolf's growth."

"I am impressed by the great brand and compelling business model that Great Wolf has built under Kim's leadership,” said Rodriguez. “I am eager to work with the management team to continue building and growing the Great Wolf brand, and to delight thousands of guests each year."
