Scottish galleries experience 25 per cent surge in visitor numbers

National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) has seen a 25 per cent increase of visitors in 2012 with three sites in
Edinburgh attracting over 1.6m people. he highest previous figure for all three sites was recorded in 2006
with 1.56m. The results are, in part, due to the success of the opening of the refurbished Scottish National
Portrait Gallery in December 2011.
