Native American museum dream edges closer to becoming reality

Plans for a Native American museum in Oklahoma City that have been in the
offing for nearly 20 years have moved closer to fruition, after the Oklahoma
House budget panel voted in favour of submitting its funding application to the
full House Appropriations and Budget Committee.

Boston museum announces plans for 4D cinema

The Museum of Science in Boston is to open a new 98-seat 4D cinema in
August. It will use technology from Toronto-based SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment,
combining a high-definition 3D film with sensory effects built into the seats and
cinema environment. The current 3D digital cinema at the museum will close on
30 March as a result.

Plans revealed for Bill Shankly-themed hotel and museum

Following the opening of the Titanic hotel in Liverpool, UK’s city centre, the
same company behind it has proposed plans to redevelop the council-owned
Millennium House to become a Bill Shankly-themed aparthotel and museum in a
£15m ($25m, €18.1m) scheme.

Work begins on US$138 Malaysian animation theme park

Ground has been broken on Malaysia’s first animation theme park project in
Perak – a RM450 million (US$138m, €100m, £83m) collaboration between
integrated tourism destination specialist the Sanderson Group and property
developer Perak Corporation Berhad.

Coventry Transport Museum to undergo £8.5m redevelopment

Work is to start at the beginning of April on the redevelopment of Coventry’s
Transport Museum. The £8.5m project, six years in the making, will see 12 of
the museum’s 14 galleries transformed and will also improve a range of visitor
facilities at the museum.
