The European Court of Justice has confirmed a preliminary judgement that part-timers and contract workers have the same right to four weeks' annual holiday as permanent staff. In a separate move, Trade and Industry Secretary, Patricia Hewitt, has announced a minimum wage rise of 9 per cent for younger workers.
