On the back of its
second annual English Tourism Week,
VisitEngland has announced The Prince of Wales will become the patron of the event for the next five years.
The event, which this year went from 16 to 24 March, aims to showcase the value of the tourism industry to local communities and the national economy.
Attractions, accommodation providers and tourism operators put on special events and activities aimed at inspiring Britons to explore England and take a holiday at home.
Tourism contributes £97bn to the national economy each year and supports over 2m jobs.
