Further details about a multi-million pound redevelopment at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park near Hythe, Kent, have been announced by the attraction.
Work on the scheme got underway at the end of 2010 in an attempt to broaden the park's national appeal, with the final product due to launch in April.
Port Lympne's existing layout - 500 acres (202.3 hectares) on foot and 100 acres (40.5 hectares) of safari - has been reversed to provide 500 acres (202.3 hectares) of safari.
Three new play areas and two new restaurants have been unveiled, while 'on foot' areas have been divided into four zones to offer exhibits and interactive displays.
Two new 160sq m (1,722sq ft) African-style cafés will be located in two separate zones, while a new 230sq m (2,476sq ft) enclosure for Pallas cats is also being installed.
The new enclosure has been built in Port Lympne's European bison field, which is one of two areas to feature a new walkway; the second located between two rhino paddocks.
Other improvements include a new education centre, which is open sided and features a thatched roof. It will enable visitors to watch education videos and stage demonstrations.
Jacksons Fencing; Moons; The Lapa Company; SSE Contracting; Rod Barlow (plumbing); and BW May are among the contractors working on the scheme.
