The Heritage Lottery Fund has appointed £38,900 to local history project Changing Bradford, which will examine South Asian culture in the city since the end of World War II.
Delivered by the
Constortia of Ethnic Minority Organisations (COEMO), the project will recruit and train young people as oral history interviewers. They will collect the stories of older South Asian residents including factory workers, community workers, politicians, artists and business leaders.
Accompanied by an experienced photographer and designer, their resulting work will be presented in a high quality publication and in an exhibit at the
Impressions Gallery.
