Julie Bach launches wellbeing app for people touched by cancer
POSTED 10 Mar 2021 . BY Megan Whitby
Julie Bach founded Wellness for Cancer to facilitate self-care and better lifestyle choices for individuals who have been touched by cancer
Wellness for Cancer (WFC), the charity founded and led by industry figure Julie Bach, has launched a wellbeing app for people touched by cancer, featuring content from established wellness brands including Six Senses, Kamalaya and Biologique Recherche.

The app is called Kaleidoscope View and gives people tools to create a curated wellness experience.

Users are offered cancer-specific digital content focused on topics such as surgery and end-of-life, alongside guided and specific meditations designed to help those dealing with cancer activate their autonomic nervous system to facilitate healing.

Kaleidoscope View also features content focused on a mix of general wellness disciplines including sleep and breathwork.

Bach was inspired to create the app after recognising that most wellness tools for people touched by cancer are learned at a cancer centre or through support groups.

In light of this, she wants to highlight how the wellness industry has the tools to facilitate learning in a more healing environment that people could participate in on their own time.

“I want to make wellbeing more accessible for people with cancer,” Bach explained, “and in the wake of COVID, many people have been introduced to the idea of online content, and this creates a formula to reinvent how wellness programming is created and delivered to cancer patients and thrivers.

“This is an initiative that addresses gaps in access, affordability and quality.”

Content can be accessed on demand so it’s both accessible and convenient to anyone, without limitations on time or experience.

Bach hopes that partnering with well-respected brands in wellness for content will not only provide top-notch quality of instruction but also inspire people by giving them a glimpse of peaceful locations around the world.

Karina Stewart, founder and chief wellness director at Kamalaya, says: “It’s an honour to contribute to Julie's outstanding vision.

“Supporting people who’re in great need through their personal health and life journeys is at the core of Kamalaya’s values, and offering this to the cancer community and extending wellbeing for everyone at this time when it is needed most is an immense privilege.”

Bach launched the app in pilot form in December 2020, and is testing the feasibility for usage by cancer thrivers. Moving from feasibility to global viability, WFC will be looking for additional high-quality content from the wellness industry.

Kaleidoscope View is currently offering a three-day free trial and charges US$5.00 (€4, £4) for a monthly subscription. To find out more head to the official registration page.

The app is available online and in Apple Store, Google Play and Roku Tv.

Most recently, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help move the app past the pilot stage. To invest in the innovation, click here.
