Biologique Recherche unveils new Parisian institute and plans sites in LA, Rome and Shanghai

Our main goal is to expand our Ambassade network in the most emblematic cities in the world
– Rupert Schmid
French skincare brand Biologique Recherche has opened its second urban beauty institute in Paris
named Ambassade Biologique Recherche Rive Gauche.

Biologique Recherche co-owner Rupert Schmid told Spa Business this new facility’s design will be used as a blueprint for the future Ambassades Biologique Recherche around the world.

The Ambassade concept – translated to mean embassy in English – was created by the brand’s founder Yvan Allouche. His vision was to create a network of exclusive Biologique Recherche outposts in urban environments.

Schmid revealed new Ambassade locations will open in Rome, Los Angeles and Shanghai by the end of 2022.

He also hinted that the brand is considering opening two extra locations in Shanghai, but these have not yet been confirmed.

“Biologique Recherche is already present in more than 85 countries so it’s natural we’re continuing to expand and develop our Ambassade concept worldwide.

“Our main goal is to expand our Ambassade network in the most emblematic cities in the world, and if possible, open one in each of our partners’ countries,” he concludes.

Biologique Recherche Rive Gauche
The brand’s new 250sq m facility is located in the upmarket sixth arrondissement of Paris and provides personalised Biologique Recherche face, body and hair treatments.

Spread over two floors, the institute is home to five treatment rooms, including one for couples as well as a cabin adapted for hair treatments.

Since the launch of the flagship Ambassade Biologique Recherche at the Champs-Elysées in Paris in 1993, the brand has worked with interior designer Joanne de Lepinay to design global Ambassades Biologique Recherche.

For this second Parisian address, she was tasked with preserving the Parisian spirit of the building while showcasing the spirit and values of Biologique Recherche.

Interior design is inspired by the brand's logo which features a palette of white, blue and gold. de Lepinay then opted for white luminescent onyx to showcase products in display cabinets, with brass accents.

Adorned with one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, the space is softened with silk wall coverings and hanging structures featuring brass moons and hand-blown milk glass balls.
