The future of Walthamstow Stadium – home to the famous dog track in Chingford – has been subject to recent media speculation, following an article in the Estates Gazette claiming it is up for sale for between £30m and £40m.
Reports suggest that six parties have bid for the stadium, with most interest coming from housing developers.
Waltham Forest Council has said there is no obligation for the site to be retained as a dog track. A change of use would leave just two tracks in London – in Wimbledon and Romford.
Real estate specialist Godfrey Vaughan has been quoted as the selling agent but has not released any details.
