A bid to transform Moat Brae House and Garden into a Centre for Children's Literature in Dumfries, Scotland, has been handed a funding boost by the Scottish Government.
Fiona Hyslop, cabinet secretary for culture and external affairs, announced £250,000 worth of funding through the Historic Scotland grants scheme towards the property.
Moat Brae is believed to have provided author JM Barrie with the inspiration for Peter Pan and is to benefit from work to stabilise the fabric of the building and other repairs.
Hyslop said: "It is a lovely idea that both the house and the garden that inspired [JM Barrie] to write this story can provide inspiration for a whole new generation of children."
