The escape has been launched to coincide with the television reboot of The Exorcist
The Exorcist is returning to give people a fright in Los Angeles in the form of a pop-up attraction to celebrate the television reboot of the cult horror classic.
Running for free from 23-25 September, The Exorcist escape room is being used a promotional tool by Fox, with the producer teaming up with Escape Hotel Hollywood for the immersive experience.
Opening the same day as The Exorcist’s television premiere, ‘The Exorcist Escape Room Experience’ will take participants through six different rooms including the church, the priest's office, the attic, the room of a mysterious and religious woman, the room of a possessed boy and a secret room available for photo opportunities before moving onto the final part of the game.
The 45-minute encounter culminates in an exorcism that will take place "before their very eyes," according to Fox, who also said the experience would include earthquake simulations, demonic sounds, puzzles and gadgets.
The experience, which has capacity for up to 20 visitors at one time, will increase in intensity for each room the participants enter, with the order in which each trigger is discovered by the group dictating their play experience.
