Yorkshire-based children’s museum Eureka! has taken the top prize in an award ceremony celebrating Europe’s best initiatives for children.
Les Trophées Kid awards were established in 2003 to reward the best play, leisure and tourism-related initiatives for children in Europe. Entrants for each category are shortlisted by a panel of experts before going forward to a public vote.
Eureka!, which is the first UK museum to be aimed exclusively at children and attracts more than 250,000 visitors a year to its Halifax site, won the Grand Prize for Urban Development and Layout.
The museum also scooped the top honour of the Grand Prize of the Year, beating 105 other entrants and receiving the most public votes. Details: www.eureka.org.uk
