Belmond Hotels and Dior celebrate La Dolce Vita with pop-up spas in Portofino

Belmond Hotels has partnered with Dior for an exclusive new wellness experience in the gardens of its luxury hotel in Portofino, named Splendido, A Belmond Hotel.

The hotel’s tiered gardens overlooking Portofino Bay have recently become the setting for two Dior spa gazebos, offering bespoke wellness treatments crafted by the fashion house.

In tribute to Splendido’s flower gardens, the pop-up spa is named Jardin des Rêves Dior, translated as Garden of Dreams.

Taking inspiration from the foliage which envelopes the pop-up spa, Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of Dior women’s collections, has reimagined Dior’s iconic fabric decorating the gazebos in a vibrant leaf-green to blend in with the lush surroundings.

Dior has launched a new 45-minute Dior Bronze Signature Massage (€210, £181, US$219) to celebrate the collaboration. The ritual is centred around boosting radiance and is designed to prepare the body for tanning.

Guests can also make their way through a menu of signature Dior treatments ranging from massages and body treatments to facials.

Spa visitors are invited to pause and reflect after their treatment in an outdoor relaxation area of rattan chairs.

As part of the collaboration, Dior has also transformed two decks of the nearby Bagni Fiore beach club in Paraggi with a relaxation space and treatment cabin for outdoor spa treatments.

In addition, Dior has erected a temporary retail boutique in Paraggi and launched a limited edition of the Escale à Portofino perfume, entitled Splendido Edition.

The Dior and Belmond tie-up will run until 30 September 2022.

Both brands are owned by luxury goods conglomerate LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy).

Although originally a fashion house, Dior has expanded into the world of spa and beauty in recent years and now encompasses two branded spas, a skincare line, makeup collection and perfume range.

Dior spas can be found at the premium La Samaritaine hotel in Paris (check out Spa Business’ first-person review here) and a treatment space at luxury London department store Harrods.
