Merlin Entertainments has delivered the final planning applications for its new multi-million pound Madame Tussauds attraction planned for Blackpool.
Scheduled to open in April next year, it will be the 11th of the brand to open globally and the second in the UK.
The attraction will take the same format as at the other sites, displaying wax figures of British tv, film and sport celebrities, but will focus on the 'unique British qualities' of the iconic seaside town.
Many new celebrity faces are planned, some of which will appear in interactive sets designed to encourage visitors to get involved in the action.
Iain Hawkins, Merlin Entertainments' Head of Blackpool Cluster said: "We are very excited about Madame Tussauds, Blackpool. It is quite different from anything Madame Tussauds' has done before and will be full of surprises, and new figures never seen before."
