This year's IAAPA show in Atlanta saw Maurer Söhne's X-Car add to its tally of international awards.
The unique coaster won both 'Best New Product' in the Major Theme / Amusement Park Ride / Attraction sector, and 'Product with highest impact on amusement ride industry in 2005', which covers all categories, with Dennis Lind of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts presenting the latter.
All products no older than five years and running on site in an amusement park can apply for the awards, Maurer's application being based on the X-Car coaster 'G Force' which opened at Drayton Manor Park in England earlier this year.
Previous awards for the ride - which features a completely new hip-restraint system, stadium-type seating and a new track configuration - include 'Best Idea at EAS 2004', 'Reddot Design Award 2004', 'IDEA Design Award 2004', and 'Nominee for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2006'.

attractions, and family-friendly hotels. But the offering that truly stands out with fun
for everyone is Studio City Water Park – Macau’s first stand-alone water park, with all
the water slides and aquatic play structures supplied by WhiteWater. |
