Vekoma has created two new family roller coasters for the new dinosaur-themed Lost Kingdom area at Paulton’s Park, Hampshire, UK.
The Flight of the Pterosaur is a suspended family coaster and is the first of its type in the UK.
The Family Coaster has open design seats and a restraint which moves in one easy movement over the shoulder for optimal fit and security, providing an experience of freedom and an unobstructed view of the ride.
The Velociraptor Family Boomerang Rebound coaster has a small footprint but a big impact, with a forward / backward run and full speed through the centre station, plus other fun elements.
Vekoma account manager Stefan Holtman worked with Paultons on the project.
He said: “It has been really fantastic working with Richard Mansey and his team and for Vekoma Rides it was of course fantastic to deliver two such great coasters.
“Paultons Park received the very first ever of the newly designed Family Boomerang Rebound and it looks and rides terrific.
“The Suspended Family Coaster has already been a great success in various other parks and the fantastic theming at Paultons park really gives an extra dimension at those two coasters. This investment will greatly benefit Paultons future.”
The four-acre Lost Kingdom attraction cost £9m to develop and opened on 18 May.
Other family rides include Boulder-Dash, Temple Heights and Dino-Chase; a dinosaur adventure play park, Little Explorers, and The Dinosaur Tour Co – a 4x4 Jurassic Jeep expedition, where children and parents can discover dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes along with a few surprises.
Alive, Dinosaur Encounter lets families will come face to face with a captive T-Rex and guests can eat at two new venues - Base Camp and The Nest, and there’s a new themed shop, Outpost 12.
Paultons Park is also home to Peppa Pig World, which the park opened in 2011.
