Olympic officials in Athens will today be given the opportunity to test the facilities at the Games’ main venue, the Olympic Stadium, as the stadium holds the Greek Olympic trials.
According to the BBC, up to 8,000 spectators are expected to fill the unfinished stadium and the athletes competing will include current 200m Olympic champion, Konstantinos Kenteris.
The success of the event is seen as paramount to shake off persistent doubts over Athens’ capability to run host the games effectively and efficiently in two months’ time.
