Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi has released details of rides and attractions at two of its immersive lands, Metropolis and Cartoon Junction.

The park, which is expected to open later this year, is the world’s first ever Warner Bros branded theme park. It will have six immersive lands: Warner Bros Plaza, Metropolis, Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Gotham City, Bedrock and Dynamite Gulch. These will feature 29 state-of-the-art rides, interactive attractions and live entertainment.

Metropolis, also known as ‘the City of Tomorrow’, is a bustling Manhattan-esque city protected by DC superheroes, including Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, The Teen Titans and The Flash. It features four attractions, two restaurants, and two souvenir shops.

Located in the Daily Planet, the workplace of Superman’s alter ego Clark Kent, is Superman 360: Battle for Metropolis, a thrilling attraction where guests fight villains alongside the Man of Steel himself, to save Metropolis from evil.

Justice League: Warworld Attacks is an immersive dark ride, where guests swoop, dart and spin as they fight off alien invaders. The ride is housed in the Hall of Justice, the Justice League’s headquarters.

Other attractions include Green Lantern: Galactic Odyssey, a 4D flying theatre that takes guests on a hair-raising journey across the galaxy to extraordinary worlds; and Teen Titans Training Academy, a multi-level play area with a zip line, that lets trainee superheroes showcase their skills.

The land offers two dining options: Park Ridge Market, a grab-and-go-cafe, and the Ace O’ Clubs, Bibbo Bibbowski’s quick service restaurant. There will be two shopping options: Zatanna Books & Magical Curiosities and Justice League Hero Supply.

Cartoon Junction celebrates beloved characters from Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera. It features nine rides and attractions suitable for all the family.

Tom and Jerry Swiss Cheese Spin, located in Cartoon Junction’s town square, is a spinning coaster that takes riders on a thrilling chase through the duo’s house.

Scooby-Doo The Museum of Mysteries is a trackless, haunted dark ride. Guests, in their own Mystery Machines, solve cases with Scooby and the gang as they make their way through the museum. The ride concludes with a madcap chase, reminiscent of those seen in the iconic cartoon.

Other attractions at Cartoon Junction include Ani-Mayhem, an interactive dark ride; Cartoon Junction Carousel, Warner Bros’s take on a traditional carousel; Meet Bugs! (and Daffy), a walk-through experience at the downtown theatre where guests can meet Bugs Bunny; and ACME Factory, which features three rides for younger guests: Daffy’s Jet-Propelled Pogo Stick, Tweety Wild Wockets and Ricochet Racin’ with Taz.

Food options include the ACME Commissary, Huckleberry Hound Pies, Penelope Pitstop Cotton Candy, and Yogi Bear and Boo Boo Ice Cream.

Park general manager Mark Gsellman said: “The six different and immersive lands will seamlessly transport guests of all ages to the lands of their favourite DC Super Heroes and beloved Warner Bros animated characters.”

“Guests will discover the Warner Bros Plaza – a land inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood – to celebrate all things Warner Bros. From there, park-goers can step through one of the many portals that leading to other lands including Metropolis, Gotham City, Cartoon Junction, Bedrock and Dynamite Gulch, each of which offers a unique set of experiences, including authentically themed restaurants and shopping outlets,” he added.
