Twelve months after reporting trading difficulties, the Dundee Science Centre has announced a full turnaround in its performance and the news of an Investors in People award.
Chief Executive, Paul Jennings said: 'Early decisions on making the necessary changes were difficult but have left the business much stronger and on a more stable footing.' The launch of a corporate pack earlier this year has resulted in this area of business growing by 600 per cent over 2001 levels.
Jennings said the centre had reduced its operating base by 30 per cent and emphasised the importance of corporate business: 'Feedback from corporate events is so good there is a market waiting to be tapped. We have three members of staff dedicated to leading that sector.' Chair, Professor Ian Stevenson said: 'Sensation has performed remarkably well this year in the face of growing competition and in an industry experiencing considerable difficulties across the UK.'
