Arjen Robben plans self-dedicated museum

Soccer star Arjen Robben is about to follow the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Pelé by opening a museum dedicated to accolades and achievements collected over his own career.

The Dutchman, who has played for the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Chelsea and also at international level, has announced he will build a new private museum to house all of his memorabilia when he calls time on his legendary career.

The museum – which Robben is planning to build on the grounds in his own home – will not be as accessible as the Ronaldo or Pelé museums, which are freely open to the public. The self-dedicated Dutch footballer’s museum will instead be an invite-only only affair initially, though limited public openings have been mooted.

“I have so many souvenirs - shirts of other players,” said Robben speaking to Bild “I kept the ball from the 2013 Champions League final, there are boots that I have worn at European Championships and World Cups. The idea is to pull everything together so that nothing is lost.”
