More than 40 heritage attractions across Scotland will offer free admission later this month as part of Historic Scotland's St Andrews 'Visit for Free' programme.
Locations including Edinburgh Castle; the newly-transformed palace at Stirling Castle; and Urquhart Castle will open their doors for free on 26 and 27 November.
The 'Visit for Free' initiative forms part of Scotland's Winter Festivals, which marks three of the country's festivals: St Andrew's Day; Hogmanay; and Burns Night.
Visitors can download their free weekend pass to all ticketed Historic Scotland properties, which is valid for up to two adults and three children, by registering on a special website.
