New Poland theme park plans announced
POSTED 21 Jul 2011 . BY Pete Hayman
Castle Island the working title for one of the park's proposed zones
Plans have been unveiled for the construction of Adventure World Warsaw - a major 240-hectare (593-acre) theme park to open at Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Poland, in spring 2014.

It is anticipated that the new attraction will provide Poland with a comparable experience to other European parks such as Alton Towers, UK, and Europa Park, Germany.

More than 100 experts will be involved with the development of Adventure World Warsaw, including AGS Architects; Vekoma Rides Manufacturing; and Jora Vision.

Featuring more than 25 attractions, the theme park will also include two hotels boasting 800 rooms; the country's largest aquapark; and an entertainment area with cinemas and eateries.

The theme park itself will be divided into five themes, with working names including Castle Island; Creature Lagoon; Adventure Harbour; Land of Legends; and Polski Plaza.

An international consortium of private and institutional investors registered in Luxembourg - Las Palm - will fund the project, which is expected to cost around EUR400m (£351m).

Las Palm board president Peter Jan Mulder said: "The construction of the park will commence in spring 2012. We expect approximately 2 million visitors annually in the first phase of the Adventure World Warsaw project."

The theme park is the first phase of a planned investment for the site. A second phase will include another theme park; an entertainment village; a wellness centre; and a business centre.
