In a move designed to attract more young visitors, the Coyote Point Museum in San Mateo, California, US, has changed its name to CuriOdyssey.
The original name dates back to the museum's opening 32 years ago and it was felt that a new identity was needed to match what has become a more hands-on gallery.
The new title is said to reflect the journey that children experience as they explore the natural world.
The museum closed for a week for the transition and will reopen on 15 January.
