A new short film has been produced by members of the Northern Stars Film Academy to provide information about the Heritage Lottery Fund's (HLF) Young Roots programme.
The Young Roots Files is designed to showcase a range of HLF-funded projects as part of the programme, which provides grants worth between £3,000 and £25,000 to youth groups across the UK.
Members of the Tyneside Cinema-based Northern Stars Film Academy - all of whom are aged 17 and 18 years old - took on various roles to produce the new film.
Dr Jo Reilly, head of participation and learning at HLF, said: "We were delighted to give the Northern Stars creative control over the film as part of our commitment to youth participation.
"In times when added skills and volunteering experience can be vital to securing jobs or course places, projects like the ones featured in our film can offer invaluable opportunities for young people."
Young Roots is a rolling programme with no deadline for applications, with decisions normally reached within 10 weeks.
