French amusement park operator, Grévin & Cie, formerly Parc Astérix, has acquired a further two amusement parks.
The company, which cites Parc Astérix, Bagatelle amusements and Grand Aquarium de Saint-Malo among its portfolio, has acquired the Aquarium de Touraine and Parc Mini-Château, from the bankrupt Groupe Durand Allizé for t1.65m.
Located near the Château de la Loire at Amboise, south west of Paris, the Parc Mini-Château has miniature versions of famous monuments complete with petite figures and trains. Aquarium de Touraine has over 50 tanks of aquatic life and a 3D cinema.
The acquisition is in line with the company's strategy of buying leading regional amusements parks and attractions in Europe, said the group's chair and CEO, Olivier de Bosredon. 'We have a winning combination. We take attractions that have a strong brand identity locally and combine it with our global expertise.'
