Kew Palace, the former home of King George III in Surrey, UK, will reopen to the public this month.
The heritage site has been closed since 1996, when the property’s owner, Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) began a £6.6m restoration project at the site.
The palace’s interiors have been remodelled to match the period of The King’s rule, while a wax head of the monarch as well as his personal belongings are among the artefacts on display.
Three floors of the palace will be open to public access, including – for the first time – the bedrooms of Princesses Augusta and Amelia which have remained untouched for nearly 200 years. Details: www.hrp.org.uk
