Troubled theme park operator Six Flags has announced further losses for the second quarter of 2009.
The group, which filed for bankruptcy in June, saw a 13 per cent decline in revenue during the three months to 30 June 2009.
The group blamed the fall in income on plummeting attendance figures for the period. Attendance at Six Flags parks was down 8 per cent compared to 2008, despite the timing of Easter in April of this year and in March last year.
Mark Shapiro, chief executive, said that despite the company's financial troubles, all Six Flags parks were still "operating well".
"The restructuring of the company's finances has not affected our in-park product," he said. "We are diligently containing costs and you'd never believe we were in the midst of a financial reorganization."
Six Flags operates 20 visitor attractions in the US, Canada and Mexico. The group has also unveiled plans to expand into Dubai and China.
