An exhibit mapping the history of the moon landing has been relaunched at the Kennedy Space Centre (KSC) to mark the 40th anniversary of event.
The Lunar Theatre has been reopened a decade after it was first made accessible to the public, and includes a video on the moon landings and a presentation charting the astronauts' journey.
The theatre, designed by BRC Imagination Arts, is the first of several new projects planned for KSC by the Burbank-based company.
As part of plans to attract more families to the space centre, BRC has completely revised KSC's masterplan. The revised plans include the creation of a new visitor attraction on the future of the US space programme.
Matthew Solari, director of education development said: "Grandparents across the US remember Sputnik and the first walk on the moon changed the world, but forty years later an entirely new generation only experiences it as a history lesson. With space exploration poised to dramatically move to a new level with the constellation program, we need to continue to educate young children on past successes".
