Activity holiday specialist and school tour operator, PGL Travel, has been taken over by its management team in a deal worth £42m.
The management buy-out comes a year after the company acquired the 3D children’s activity business from Center Parcs for around £12m.
Herefordshire-based PGL was founded by Peter Lawrence in 1957 and currently operates activity holiday centres in the UK, France, Spain and Austria.
PGL is part of the government’s Get REAL campaign, which aims to make US-style summer camps available to children of all ages and backgrounds. Details: www.pgl.co.uk
