The new £2m XS!TE arena has opened at Xscape in Glasshoughton, Leeds.
The 15,000sq m (160,000sq ft) indoor venue has been built to host conferences, exhibitions and entertainment events and aims to attract top musical acts to West Yorkshire.
Facilities include three bars and a VIP area for 240 people, plus access to Xscape’s ski slope, ice wall, bowling alley, ski ride, cinema, bars and restaurants.
The 2,100-capacity venue has a sports licence, 24-hour public entertainment licence and 3am alcohol licence.
Flexible staging, designed by LiteStructures, means XS!TE can host both basic and extravagant events.
The project was spearheaded by new company Xspace, a joint venture between local businessmen Jason Fenning and Adrian Brooks, managing director of LiteStructures. Details: www.xsite-uk.com
