Cartoon Network takes to the high seas with world-first immersive cruise ship
POSTED 25 Jan 2018 . BY Lauren Heath-Jones
Cartoon Network Wave will feature 800 cabins and suites, and 11 decks of entertainment and leisure options
Turner Broadcasting System, the media company behind Cartoon Network, has announced a new partnership with cruise management company Oceanic Group, that will see the launch of Cartoon Network Wave, the world’s first ever cruise ship to offer a completely immersive Cartoon Network-themed experience.

The ship, which is expected to make its maiden voyage from its home port in Singapore later this year, will feature 800 themed cabins and suites, including two triplex suites. It will have 11 decks offering a variety of leisure and entertainment options, including shopping and relaxation opportunities as well as live-shows, themed parties and clubs. In addition, the deck will have nine restaurants, pubs and bars, including Bravo’s Place, a Johnny Bravo-themed American diner.

Entertainment highlights include: Night Glow Party, which offers themed-parties where guests can hang out with their favourite Cartoon Network characters, including The Powerpuff Girls, We Bare Bears and Teen Titans; Rope Adventure Park, an Adventure Time-themed rope course; Power Cage, a live show with gravity-defying circus acts; and Young Tooniverse, a play area for children aged between four and twelve, which features indoor and outdoor spaces where children can play, and meet their favourite Toonix characters.

The Cartoon Network Wave will feature extensive theming across the decks and cabins. The ship itself will also be themed, with Jake the Dog, from Adventure Time, serving as a spectacular focal point on the ship’s façade.

“Cartoon Network Wave heralds the start of a new vacation experience for cruise-goers in Asia, where cruise travel meets personalized journeys through experiential storytelling," said Daniel Chui, CEO of Oceanic Group.

“Cartoon Network Wave will create and curate new cruise experiences for holidaymakers, cruise-goers, and generations of pop culture fans.”

The ship will be docked at the Singapore Cruise Centre and will sail to 13 destinations in the Asia Pacific region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Australia.
